Cranberry sauce - four ways


1. Basic Cranberry sauce
Ingredients:

3 cups fresh cranberries
¾ cup sugar
3/4 cup water
pinch salt
  1. Place sugar and water in a pan. 
  2. Add the cranberries and salt and bring to boil. 
  3. Cook stirring occasionally on medium heat till thickened and most of the cranberries have popped about 7-10 minutes. 
  4. Cool completely before serving. 
  5. Keeps well covered, refrigerated for a week. 

2. Orange and ginger spiked Cranberry sauce
Ingredients:

3 cups fresh cranberries
¾ cup sugar
½ inch ginger grated
Zest and juice of 1 orange
pinch salt
  1. Put the juice of one orange in a measuring cup and top with water until you have 3/4 cup liquid in total. 
  2. Continue with the above recipe using orange juice water mixture in place of water. 

3. Herb-infused Cranberry sauce
Add a tablespoon of chopped rosemary to the concoction and follow the basic cranberry sauce recipe to get this very festive flavored side.

4. Spice-infused Cranberry sauce
Add one cinnamon stick and 5 whole cloves to the concoction and follow the basic cranberry sauce recipe. When completely cool, remove and discard the whole spices before serving.

  1. That's a truly gorgeous looking sauce. Just a look at the bowl and it works up an appetite. I simply love such creative and yummy sauces. This one also is loaded with goodness which makes it bonus. Yummmmm.
